Inspirational 70's Images
07 June 2010

The following are some beautiful, inspirational images I’d like to share with you from the 1970’s. Somehow they are so relevant today with the crochet clothing, hair & make up and Kate Moss looks. They’re taken from a rare photography book I own entitled Birds of Britain by John D Green and published by Macmillan Press. I found this book in the ‘bird’ section of a little vintage book store in New York  some years ago!
Enjoy !! Xx

Little Joe Woman Fashion Week
05 May 2010

Little Joe Woman showed for the first time at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week and we were told by many that, WE ROCKED !!!

The inspiration was Talitha Getty, luxe hippy-chic....urban city girl goes to Morocco for S/S2010 – 11.

Our gorgeous models stomped down the runway in Jimmy Choo shoes with thick glossy hair courtesy of Renya Xydis for ghd and beautiful make up by Lancome. They were dressed in 1970’s style flouncy printed dresses with coin-embellished belts, silk khaki combat genie pants in all of summers greatest colours: dusty pink, camel, khaki, cream and peach and soft silk jackets. We’ve had so much fun working on this collection and doing the show.

Barbie & Little Joe Woman!
28 April 2010

This week we dressed Barbie for Grazia Magazine...

We all love Barbie! She's a fashion icon. We are so into flowing, chiffon, floral dresses right now, and to make this vintage inspired lingerie and kimono robe was such a fantastic and fun project.

Anzac Day
25 April 2010

This is my favourite Anzac Cookies recipe... It’s from Margaret Fulton's Encyclopaedia of Food and Cookery.... During World War one Australian mother and women’s groups reputedly sent these delicious treats in care packages while their sons were away.
Enjoy! xx

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup of unsweetened desiccated coconut
1/2 cup of brown sugar
125g of butter
1 tablespoon golden syrup
1.5 teaspoons of Bicarbonate of sodium
2 tablespoons boiling water

Method:
1. Assemble dry ingredients, sift the flour and sugar and mix well
2. Melt the butter and the  golden syrup. When melted mix the bicarb with the hot water.
3. Whilst the butter mix is frothing quickly mix with dry ingredients
4. Shape into walnut sized balls
6. Place on baking paper and squash flat
7. Place in 180oC oven for 10-15 Min's remove when light brown
8. Allow to harden on wire racks
9. Store in airtight container when completely cooled.

Azzedine Alaia
12 April 2010

I wanted to share some gorgeous images from the early 1990’s when I used to work as a model with Azzedine Alaia. He is such an incredibly talented person and a dream to work for. We all used to have such a fun time doing his shows, as you can see from the photographs.

Our Melbourne Adventure
23 March 2010

“ What a great week we had in Melbourne!
LMFF (L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival) really had the city buzzing! We had a fashion show at Chadstone, with Lindy Klim providing the beats and then headed into store for a trunk show preview of the new Fall Winter Collection, Winter Wonderland. Laurent Perrier provided the beautiful bubbles and there was lots of fun in store until closing around midnight.

The next day we caught up with the Calvin Klein collection designer Francisco Costa and CK’s head of marketing and PR Malcolm Carfrae for drinks at Coda bar and then dinner with the Westfield team at Bar Lourinha where they had a cartoonist doing drawings of everyone. Lots of stupid fun!

On Friday we were back to school at the Fashion Seminars. These are always really interesting and inspiring. The Fashionair creator, Sojin Lee, was great and we met up quickly after her lecture. She used to buy LJW for Net-a-Porter which she founded. What a story.
Also of great interest was the former head of Hermes, Christian Blanckaert, and his lecture on the future of luxury. It seems from his point of view that we are in for some very challenging times.
Finally Kirstie Clemens interviewed Francisco and Malcolm on stage about the Calvin Klein business. Francisco has really interpreted and renewed the CK aesthetic. It’s so funny, I used to work with Calvin  back in the day in New York!
Before we raced off to the airport we made plans to catch up for a dinner party with Francisco and Malcolm when we’re in NY next – hopefully June!
So that was it! Melbourne was such fun!”
